Society of Bluffton Artists

Located at 6 Church St, Bluffton, SC 29910. On the corner of Church and Calhoun streets in the Bluffton historic district, the Society of Bluffton Artists is a vibrant art hub that features exhibitions, workshops, and regular art classes for the community. The Society of Bluffton Artists is devoted to bringing awareness to the importance of visual arts. It helps local artists and students at all levels by offering exhibitions, workshops, and art classes. The group also sponsors outreach programs for children.

The Society of Bluffton Artists’ gallery offers a monthly show with works by more than 100 local artists. They also regularly change exhibits by their members. They welcome the public to their gallery, but there is a limit of six people at a time. Refreshments will be served on the porch.

In February, the Society of Bluffton Artists will host a Young Talent exhibit, featuring the work of twenty local youth artists. The show will run through April 3. A special awards ceremony will be held March 9. The exhibit includes oil paintings, pottery, and varied media. The awards ceremony will take place at 5-7 p.m. The gallery will also offer a slideshow of memories.

SOBA also sponsors a Summer Art Camp for ages 6-9 from July 20-24. This year’s camp will run from 9 to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday. Registration is now open. If you are interested in enrolling, call the gallery at 843-757-6586.

There will be a back-to-school PTA expo in August. The event will feature information about the school cafeteria and bus transportation. It will be free to attend. The expo is open to the public. It will also include a performance by Tommy Ellison’s Legendary Singing Stars.

SOBA’s Center for Creative Arts is located right next to the gallery. It is open to the public and offers a variety of classes, including pottery, watercolors, and mixed media. In addition, the group partners with local high school students to create murals and other art pieces.

The Society of Bluffton Artists has a special exhibit this year that features the work of Bluffton High School’s National Art Honor Society. It is called “The Art of Bluffton High School.” It is on display through April 3 at the Society of Bluffton Artists. The exhibit features a portrait of a young girl holding a doll, as well as a scene of an underwater scene. The scene was created by Nathalia Roca, the president of the National Art Honor Society. The group also sponsors a scholarship for a local student. The Naomi McCracken Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a degree in an art discipline in higher education. This scholarship is funded by a donation from a longtime Bluffton resident. To apply, applicants must write a personal statement and participate in an interview with a SoBA scholarship committee. This year, there were 91 scholarships valued at $85,000.
