Why Lowcountry Humidity Destroys Carpets Faster
Salt air, tidal sand and high humidity put carpet under conditions most of the country never sees. Three problems stand out.
Salt air
Salt settles into carpet fibers and draws moisture from the air. That creates a damp base where mold and odor can develop.
Moisture cycling
As air conditioning cycles, carpet fibers swell and shrink, which weakens them and makes matting more likely.
Sand
Fine sand works down to the base of the pile and abrades the fibers with every step.
Our Low-Moisture Carbonated Cleaning Process
A pH-neutral, biodegradable carbonated solution is applied at low pressure. Carbonation creates tiny bubbles that break the bond between soil and fiber, lifting it to the surface for extraction. Because the backing is never saturated, there is no residue left behind to attract new soil.
Why carpets dry in under one hour
Steam cleaning floods the carpet system. Our process uses only enough solution to activate the carbonation and extract soil. The carpet is slightly damp after extraction and fully dry within an hour under normal airflow. Ceiling fans speed this up.

Residential Carpet Cleaning
We clean wall-to-wall carpet in houses, condominiums and vacation rentals throughout the Lowcountry. Each appointment starts with a fiber and backing assessment. We clean in sections and move light furniture to reach the high-traffic lanes. Berber and loop pile, plush and cut pile, frieze, and stair carpet are all cleaned with the same low-moisture process.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning
We service offices, retail spaces, hospitality properties and property management accounts. Appointments can be scheduled early morning or after hours. Because carpets dry in under an hour, commercial spaces can often be back in use the same day. See our Commercial Carpet Cleaning page for details.
Carpet Stain Removal
Store-bought stain removers can set protein stains, change carpet dye, or leave residue that attracts soil. We identify the stain type before choosing a treatment.
- We pre-treat with a chemistry matched to the stain: enzyme for protein stains, acid for mineral deposits, alkaline for oil, and dye-removal for synthetic dyes.
- We allow dwell time, then extract with the low-moisture process.
- We check the area under UV light and repeat the treatment if residue remains.
Some stains change the dye in the fiber permanently, such as bleach or some oxidized stains. If we believe a stain is permanent, we tell you before we start.

Frequently Asked Questions About Carpet Cleaning in the SC Lowcountry
How long does it take for carpets to dry after cleaning?
Most carpets cleaned with our low-moisture method are dry within one hour. Ceiling fans running during and after the appointment speed this up. Steam cleaning can leave carpets wet for 12 to 24 hours in the Lowcountry.
Is carbonated cleaning safe for pets and children?
Yes. The solution is pH-neutral and biodegradable, with no harsh alkaline detergents or fragrances. There is no residue left in the fiber, and pets and children can return to cleaned areas once the carpet is dry.
How often should Lowcountry carpets be professionally cleaned?
Once a year is the minimum for most homes. Homes with pets, young children or heavy foot traffic benefit from cleaning every six months, especially near the coast where sand and salt are tracked in.
Do you move furniture during cleaning?
We move light furniture, such as chairs and side tables, so we can reach the traffic lanes beneath them. We discuss larger pieces during the estimate. We don’t move electronics, large case pieces or beds as a standard part of service.
