This Carolina farmhouse-style home was built in 1841 as a summer house for rice and cotton plantation owners from the lower parts of the Lowcountry. It has not been altered over the years and has been preserved since its additions in 1960. The interior walls and floor are made of wide heart pine boards, and the site also has an original slave cabin and a reproduction summer kitchen
